Spin, by Robert Charles Wilson, was in the Potlatch goodie bag. I started it on the bus ride Monday and finished last night after I got home.

This novel takes on issues of religion vs science (though admittedly from the science pov, or at least an interested ready to be convinced POV), shakes up end of the world panic and prophecy with some amazing temporal and nanoscience, bioengineering and terraforming; plus throws in a cosmos-wide neural net intelligence.

If you haven't sent in your Hugo nominations yet, consider adding this one in. If it appears on the ballot, consider voting for it. Good stuff.

Oh. American Idol. That gray-haired guy, Taylor Hicks, is tweaking me this year. I love his performance. And Simon Cowell does continue to give the most honest comments. So there.
